The Museum of Animal Perspectives (MAP) features wildlife imagery that has been captured
using remote sensing cameras. Through the presentation and interpretation of this imagery,
the MAP endeavors to expand the public's capacity to empathize with animals and plants.
The MAP is curated and coded by video naturalist  Sam Easterson.

Only a handful of images that are featured on this site are actually owned by Sam Easterson.
Most of the images are owned by other individuals or organizations. Nearly all of the videos
and images that are featured on the MAP’s Google maps come from image sharing websites like
YouTube and Flickr. The MAP uses embed codes that are provided by these sites to display the
content on www.sameasterson.com. The Facebook and Twitter widgets that appear on this
website serve to provide additional links to remotely sensed wildlife imagery. Unless otherwise
noted, the MAP does not claim to own any of the images on the Facebook or Twitter widgets.

The MAP creates geotags for videos and photos by referencing the original geotags or location
information that accompanies the content on other websites. If there is no geotag or location
information to reference, videos and photos are located in an area that falls within the known
geographical range of the animal that is featured in the video or photo. All of the MAP's
geotags are approximated and do not necessarily represent locations of animals in real-time.
The MAP welcomes any information that helps improve the accuracy of its geotags.

The MAP is a non-commerical new media project. All offers of donation are politely declined.
The MAP has been created primarily for educational purposes. Note: All images of animals
isolated on white (like below) have been licensed from iStockphoto (credit: iStockphoto).
